Johnny DalBasso: The Italian Rocker from Campania Touring Italy

Some artists wait for opportunities, while others create them on their own. Johnny DalBasso belongs to the second group. Born as an independent music project in Italy’s Campania region in 2013, he has spent more than a decade building his career one stage at a time, performing over 400 live shows and releasing four studio albums while remaining completely independent.

His journey is driven by passion, determination, and an unwavering commitment to live music. Instead of chasing trends, Johnny DalBasso has developed a distinctive rock identity that continues to attract audiences throughout Italy.

From One-Man Band to Full Band Performance

One of the most distinctive features of Johnny DalBasso’s project is its flexibility.

Depending on the venue and the type of event, he performs either as a one-man band, handling vocals, guitar, bass, and percussion himself, or with a full backing band, delivering a more powerful rock experience.

Regardless of the format, his performances remain energetic, authentic, and deeply connected to the audience.

A Decade of Independent Rock

Johnny DalBasso’s musical journey began in 2013 with the self-produced video for “La Rivoluzione,” which introduced his music to a wider audience and launched his first national tour.

His discography includes:

  • JDB (2014)

  • IX (2016)

  • Cannonball (2019)

  • Lo Stato Canaglia (2022)

Each album reflects a different stage of his artistic evolution while preserving his unmistakable blend of rock, punk, blues, and alternative influences.

“Lo Stato Canaglia”

Released in 2022, Lo Stato Canaglia explores political and social themes through a personal perspective.

The album’s title refers to the expression “rogue state” but expands its meaning to include personal conditions, institutional realities, and even the “status” people share daily on social media.

Johnny DalBasso wrote, arranged, and produced nearly every track himself, reinforcing his reputation as a truly independent artist.

Sharing the Stage with International Artists

Throughout his career, Johnny DalBasso has shared the stage with renowned musicians including Glen Matlock of the Sex Pistols, Lacuna Coil, Bob Log III, Il Teatro degli Orrori, Sick Tamburo, Motta, Dellera, Omar Pedrini, and Edda.

These collaborations have strengthened his reputation within Italy’s independent rock scene.
